Writing Taiwan: A Study of Taiwan’s Nativist Literature (2008)、《翻譯閾境

Taiwan Youth Chamber of Commerce of New England (TYCCNE) is deputing its first WeMeet in 2014 with a fascinating discussion on music around the world as well as career as a musician. Live steel drum music will be performed.

Invited speakers include: Ming-Hui Lin, founding member of the New England String Quartet and faculty at the NEC Prep School; Dr. Rosey Lee, Professor at Berklee College of Music; and Ssu-Yun Wang, recent graduate from Berklee College of Music.

Ming-Hui Lin is a founding member and cellist of the New England String Quartet, faculty member at the NEC Prep School, and the music director of the Boston Youth Music Charity group. Ms. Lin’s passion and career path to chamber music, education, and community engagements is a small step towards accomplishing one of her own lifetime goals, which is to give back to the world through her music and communication skill.

Dr. Rosey Lee received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 1999 from Boston University and is a Professor at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her research in traditional Japanese music has received several grants and fellowships. She has written several works for concert band and symphony orchestra as well as outstanding solo and chamber works. Her compositions for piano, Sonata in Three Movements and 24 Solar Terms, were released by Centaur Records in 2008. Her music has been performed and recorded around the world.

Ssu-yun Wang recently graduated from Berklee College of Music, where she majored in jazz vibraphone performance and fell in love with the steel drum. She is now in an apprenticeship with “the Father of the modern steel drum”- the steel drum innovator Dr. Ellie Mannette, learning tuning and steel drum production.
